Spectos Last Mile Unit: Recipient Letterbox Reader with Passive RFID and NB-IoT Connectivity

The last mile is crucial for the quality of shipment delivery. RFID technology makes it possible to track shipments at important, predefined points in the supply chain and gain insight into individual process stages in the delivery process. Spectos equips recipient mailboxes with Last Mile Units (LMU) to record the delivery time of items. Complement the Spectos RFID system with an RFID reader for the recipient mailbox on the last mile and establish quality monitoring of the delivery process from start to finish to ensure consistently high delivery quality for your customers.

RFID Readers as a Smart Last Mile Unit

Automatic Mail Detection in the Recipient's Letterbox

Last Mile Unit (LMU)

Last Mile Unit Reader

The reader for the recipient mailbox is battery-powered and rechargeable.
Passive RFID technology enables non-optical, contactless detection of items. The transmission of the captured data takes place automatically via the mobile NB-IoT network.

RFID Transponder

passive RFID tag for logistics tracking

The test shipments are equipped with passive RFID tags to make them clearly identifiable. RFID tags are small, nearly weightless and inconspicuous. Letters with RFID tags are therefore indistinguishable from normal items.
