Study on parcel delivery times and delivery quality for Bundesnetzagentur

“On a yearly average, the majority of parcels were delivered no later than the second working day after posting. This means that the legal requirements have been met.”

Klaus Müller | President of Bundesnetzagentur

Proof of good parcel delivery quality throughout Germany

For the first time, the German regulator has published valid data on parcel transit times and the delivery quality of parcels within Germany. Spectos GmbH, an independent institute with extensive experience in transit time measurements, was commissioned to collect and analyze the data together with WIK-Consult GmbH. The data covers the period from July 2021 to June 2022.

Parcel monitoring in German marketThe President of the Bundesnetzagentur regards the results of the survey as generally encouraging. At the same time, he points out that swiftly remedying current delivery shortcomings in the mail sector is all the more important. 80 percent of parcels nationwide were delivered on the first working day after posting. Overall, parcel recipients were satisfied with their parcel delivery. Only under 5 percent of the panelists reported complaints about the delivery service.
