Data4City Tool box for citizen participation makes it into Top 5

We are excited that CITY_CODE has been shortlisted for the City of Vienna challenge, named Shaping Vienna together – Tool Box for City Participation. Our innovation project Data4City has joined forces with the U-CODE project to present a solution that supports citizen participation for urban development projects. Now it is certain: CITY_CODE has made it into the Top 5 finalist projects!

Data4City is solution provider for a participation challenge in viennaThe jury selected the most innovative and interesting solutions from 31 submissions for the final round. We are proud that the Spectos smart city project Data4City has mastered the first hurdle of the challenge of the City of Vienna! In the next step, on June 25, the joint CITY_CODE project has the opportunity to present the tool box in detail to show how it will make Vienna’s citizen participation more transparent, innovative and modular. The goal of Smart City Vienna is to further develop its current participation platform and to enable citizen participation both online and offline.

Together for strong citizen engagement

We believe that CITY_CODE’s chances for winning are great. The smart elements of the D4C instrument box encourage strong citizen participation: While the PinCity app makes it possible to easily provide location-related information, citizens can also voice their opinions through an online platform that serves as a channel for location-independent surveys. All data is aggregated, analyzed and visualized in real-time analysis and management cockpits, thus enabling digital city monitoring and hyperlocal surveys. In this, the method and toolset U_CODE supports participation and co-design campaigns.

The motivation is high and our fingers crossed for June 25! Thanks to all supporters who gave their voice to the CITY-CODE project in the preliminary decision.
