Munich (Germany) is determined to become a city of tomorrow – a digital and sustainable smart city. In an effort to move forward with this project, start-ups were asked to contribute creative solutions to topics termed “NeoQuartier” and “NeoData”. As part of the competition called Apps4Muc, the city had been looking for Open Data applications to support society and the city’s administration in enhancing quality of life throughout the city. Spectos’ innovation project Data4City also participated in the “Apps4Muc” competition – with great success.
Alongside two other winners, the Data4City solution “PinCity – Healthy City Index” was able to impress the jury. The solution is part of the PinCity app, which enables users to gather and exchange subjective perspectives and perceptions at various points of interest throughout the city. The idea aims at helping citizens to have an open exchange of opinions and to promote participation.
Now it’s time to implement the projects. The three innovative solutions that won the competition will be given financial support, granting 20.000 Euros each. For more information on the PinCity app and the CityCockpit, visit the Data4City website.
