Every year, the City of Munich conducts a Smart Cities competition to find sustainable and innovative solutions that address given municipal problems.
We are proud to be among the finalists of the 2019 competition with our research project Data4City. In this project, we closely collaborate with The Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture of the TU Dresden.
Data4City focuses on the approach of a citizen-generated city data platform. The PinCity app developed as part of the project continuously collects qualitative, geolocal data through the participation of citizens. This data is enriched with sensor data that provide continuous information about environment and position data. The merging of these data and their visualization in near real-time cockpits will form the basis for city planners, businesses and cities to develop intelligent solutions to improve the quality of life in cities.
