Hospital group AMEOS with innovative multi-channel patient surveys 2.0

AMEOS Group goes on digitization offensive and chooses IT company Spectos GmbH from Dresden as partner for comprehensive patient surveys

Zurich, Dresden, October 2018 – As part of its digitization strategy, the AMEOS Group has been using modern survey methods in its clinics since the beginning of the year. For this strategy, the Dresden company Spectos GmbH developed a multimedia survey system to help increase patient satisfaction in close cooperation with the hospital group. With the use of different survey channels, the clinic operators hope to receive reviews from their patients all year round and at the same time to motivate as many patients as possible to participate in the surveys. The ongoing results from the surveys are incorporated into its quality management program.

Responding to different personal communication preferences, patients in the AMEOS Group’s hospitals are given a variety of ways to assess their hospital stay. Access keys ensure that a survey can only be conducted once. In addition to feedback terminals at each location, the survey can be answered digitally via computer or smartphone or in the traditional way via paper questionnaires. The paper-based data is then digitized by Spectos GmbH.

Together with the experts from Spectos GmbH, a uniform questionnaire was developed for all areas and wards to be able to evaluate individual process steps from the admission to the discharge of a patient. All results from the surveys are displayed centrally in a Healthcare Cockpit as a web application. This allows current developments to be tracked in real-time at the levels of clinics, wards and specialist departments. Access to data is controlled via roles assignments.

Since implementation of the multi-channel surveys, the hospital group has recorded a continuous response from patients. The roll-out to all hospitals of the AMEOS Group is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Currently, there are considerations to realize surveys for employees and referring physicians in the same way.
